Emergency walkway for Mistretta senior care facility: structural steelwork

We recently completed a major project in Mistretta, fabricating and installing a two-story emergency walkway at a local senior care facility.

This project was about far more than just the technical requirement of connecting two points of a building. In sensitive environments like healthcare and care facilities, creating safe evacuation routes is a core responsibility—to residents, their families, and the staff who care for them every day. Designed specifically for vulnerable occupants, every element was engineered to guarantee maximum stability, ease of use, and long-term durability.

Key features of the project include a hot-dip galvanized structural steel framework: hot-dip galvanization provides complete protection against corrosion and weather exposure, ensuring long-term structural integrity. The structure also includes heel-proof mesh grating decking, chosen to provide a non-slip surface while eliminating trip hazards and preventing footwear from catching, ensuring sure footing even for unsteady steps, but also galvanized protective handrails, engineered to offer firm, continuous support along the entire length of the walkway.
